Full Resume

From an early age Sheri loved reading whatever she could get her hands on, often adult-books read by her father. Every book contributed to her education. Her earliest writing successes include a gory story in first grade that earned a trip to the principal's office and a story told from the point of view of a man's tie, which greatly amused her seventh-grade class.

Sheri's early jobs included babysitting, selling snacks at a concession stand at Woodland Park Zoo, leading a shift at the local McDonald's, and working in the deli at K-mart. She got a factory job at Boeing and worked for three and a half years as a decal maker. While working, Sheri took undergraduate courses at the University of Washington and Green River Community College. When she had enough money saved up, she enrolled at Western Washington University. With her Bachelor of Science degree completed, Sheri returned to Boeing as a systems analyst supporting Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Facilities, Space Station, NLOS, Configurator, and Customer Services. During her pre-science fiction career she developed computer graphics programs and wrote system specifications, user requirements documents, and architecture documents. For a few years she also worked at the Port of Seattle at the airport supporting the Security, Lost and Found, Fire and Construction departments.

Early in her career, Sheri returned to school to develop her writing skills. She completed the certificate program in poetry and the two-year Commercial Fiction certificate program that taught her how to write her first science fiction novel at the University of Washington Continuing Education .

Sheri's main literary interest is science fiction. She has a scientific bent, her degree was in computers, math, and physics, and much more importantly the imagination to create a scientifically realistic future. Sheri has taken vacations on scientific expeditions sponsored by Earthwatch that include studies of underwater sea grasses, studies of bird behavior, excavating remnants of Mayan civilizations, and discovering ruins from ancient civilizations in Turkey. She continues to travel and learn about art, history, and commerce. She is an avid bird watcher, an amateur photographer, a dedicated gardener, and tries to exercise in fun ways when she can.

Sheri has written short stories, poems, and now her first science fiction novel, with more on the way. Her poetry has been published in small journals including Jeopardy, Heliotrope, and nycBigCityLit.com. She has participated in local poetry readings at many venues including Poets West at the Frye Art Museum

Sheri is a Judy's Book City Editor, maintains a journal at Yahoo!360,  www.familes.com, www.iexplore.com, and www.gather.com. She is a member of Pacific Northwest Writer's Association, Seattle Writer's Association, Washington Poets Association, Science Fiction Poetry Association and Poets West. She also participates in several Seattle area critique groups.

Sheri is married to Bob, a former strategic planner at the Boeing Company and now her editor-extraordinaire.
